ANTIOCH EAST BAPTIST CHURCH

The E.R. Mitchell Group (ERM) was selected to perform remodeling services to three (3) restrooms. The work included demolition of existing plumbing, relocation of fixtures, installation of new piping and fixture, counter tops, toilet partitions, ceramic tile, drywall, painting, acoustical ceilings and electrical. The work was performed in phases to allow two restrooms to remain available for use during construction. ERM services included provision for design and permitting to meet handicap requirements.

ERM was commissioned by the owner to build a circular open span Unistruct dome with a 250 foot clear span main floor and balcony seating for a total capacity of 8,240 parishioners. It also includes a multilevel administrative office and a corporate prayer room in back of the choir and orchestra shell. A sky- lighted pastor's office and private study is uniquely incorporated into the back of the sanctuary.

The project included massive excavation, concrete foundations, pre-cast concrete, full height columns carrying an intermediate ring beam and top ring beam to receive the Unistruct dome. The exterior skin is a multicolored decorative brick veneer color-coordinated to the copper dome roof and barrel vaulted lobby roof at the entrance.

This major expansion to the campus had to be strategically placed into an environmentally sensitive site with discreet underground attachments to all existing utility systems.
